Every platform in this space claims to care about students. This page is the concrete version: the specific practices we've committed to, and the ones we've refused to adopt.
Seven practices we've refused.
No infinite scroll or endless feed.
Practice apps that pull attention for its own sake are doing the opposite of what students need.
No streak shaming.
If you miss a day, we don't play "you're breaking your streak!" Streaks are for motivation, not guilt.
No false urgency.
No "offer ends in 3 hours!" pop-ups.
No peer shaming.
Leaderboards are opt-in only, anonymised, and off by default.
No guilt copy.
Our notifications don't say "you're falling behind" or "your friends are studying."
No selling student data.
Not aggregated. Not anonymised. Not to advertisers. Not to coaching centres. Not ever.
No replacing teachers.
Automated grading is verified by real teachers when it matters. We refuse to ship a "teachers are obsolete" narrative.

Even for free-tier users. Not a premium feature.
Helpline resources built in.
Prominent access to iCall, Vandrevala Foundation, AASRA, NIMHANS, Kiran — not buried in FAQ.
Parental consent for under-18.
SMS-verified parent/guardian before giving full access.
Maximum 3 push notifications per day.
Hard cap. Doesn't matter what marketing wants.
In-app only for sensitive alerts.
Wellness concerns never push-notify. Privacy respected.

If things feel worse than bad, talk to someone. The helplines are free, confidential, staffed by trained people.
For parents
If you see a pattern — withdrawal, sleep disruption — start a conversation. Not "what's happening to your marks?" Try "how are you, actually?"
For teachers
If a student flags a concern, take it seriously. Our product surfaces resources — you can reinforce that.
